A satellite communications equipment provider requested a lightweight and flexible coaxial cable assembly to allow cabled to be coiled and packed into a rucksack. Existing cables were heavy and rigid, so they were looking to improve their product mobility and customer satisfaction.

A custom coaxial cable assembly, using the new PIC Ultralite range of 50 Ohm coax cable, was quickly dispatched and supplied as a test sample. Four prototype assemblies were supplied, which they were happy with, resulting in an on-going supply to meet their demand.
