Rayfast History

Founded in 1975 as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Raychem, Rayfast became an independent distributor for the Raychem Electronics Division 12 years later, in 1987. In 1994, Rayfast was acquired by the Diploma Group, which enabled the introduction and development of additional franchises, helping to widen and strengthen the product portfolio.

Rayfast has grown consistently over the years and is now a multi-million-pound market leading organisation, supplying high-performance, high-quality interconnection products and services. In 1998, Rayfast entered the European marketplace, with its sister company Sommer GmbH, to provide a platform for a strong European presence. In the same year, Rayfast was also appointed the European Master Distributor for Raychem (now TE Connectivity).

Today, Rayfast is part of the Interconnect Solutions Group, the global supplier of specialised solutions with the personal touch, which also incorporates Cabletec, Filcon, LJR Electronics, Rayfast US and Sommer, with sites across Europe and USA. All of which, are dedicated to sales, distribution, technical support and customer service for their extensive and varied customer base across the world.

Today Rayfast employs over 80 people at its Swindon headquarters, dedicated to sales, distribution, technical support and customer service for its extensive and varied customer base across Europe.
