• 2 core - one Red & one Blue.
• 3 core - one Red, one Blue & one White.
• Others - 2 adjacent marker cores - one 2
Red (pilot core), one Blue (direction core),
remainder all White in each cable layer.

Where a single core is used in the centre of
HALOGEN
FREE the cable, its colour shall be White. All cores
in a multicore cable having four or more cores, 4
shall be identified by means of numbers in a
LFH contrasting colour.

Multipair Cables, Screened (C)
• For each layer the First pair has 1 core 6
E Black, 1 core Red (pilot pair).
• Second pair has 1 core Black, 1 core Blue
(direction pair). 7
• All other pairs have 1 core Black, 1 core
White.
Where one pair is used in the centre, the 8
colours shall be 1 core Black, 1 core White.
Where the cable consists of one pair only, the
colours shall be 1 core Red, 1 core Blue and 9
not numbered. All pairs shall also be identified
HALOGEN by means of numbers in a contrasting colour, 10
FREE starting from black numbered 1 of the first pair.
LFH Multipair Cables, Screened (D & E) 11
Low Fire Each pair shall have one core Red, one core
Hazard Blue with an overall shield and double mylar
wrap. Pairs shall be identified by means of 12
numbering in black ink on outer mylar wrap.

Multitriple Cables Screened (F)
In multitriple cables, each triple shall have one
core Red, one core Blue, one core White with 14
the White core numbered sequentially in Black.

Each cable sheath shall be marked with the 17
relevant NATO Stock Number, the component
LFH wire conductor stranding, year of manufacture
Low Fire and manufacturer’s name in accordance with 18
